Expedia is an easy way to book lodging and flights and compare prices. But they also offer many other useful vacation services—including rental cars, cruises, all-inclusive packages, attractions and activities.

How do Expedia rewards work?
Expedia Rewards is a free membership program that allows users to earn points, which can in turn be redeemed on eligible future purchases through Expedia. 100 points equals one dollar in rewards.

Rewards members also collect a different set of points called “Trip Elements” which advance them through Expedia’s membership tiers. As you move up the ranks—Blue, Silver and Gold—you can earn more points per dollar spent on eligible purchases and additional discounts on select services. For every dollar spent on qualified bookings, Blue tier members earn one point (doubled when using the Expedia app), Silver members earn two, and Gold members earn three.

How do I use my Expedia coupon code from a cancellation?
Expedia coupon code for cancellations can be redeemed like any other Expedia promo code—simply enter the code on the payment page of their website, then click apply. If you are asked whether to pay now or later, choose the “pay now” option to use your code. App users must press the Coupon Code button before sliding to purchase.

How do I get a refund from Expedia?
If you need to cancel or otherwise change your travel plans, it’s fairly easy to get a refund through the Expedia website or app. First, log into your account on Expedia.com and select “My Trips.” Locate the reservation and click “Cancel” on the service you would like them to refund. You should receive a confirmation email and a full or partial refund, depending on eligibility.

Refunds can also be processed through customer service, either via the Virtual Agent chatbot on their Customer Service page, by email at help@expedia.com or by phone +1 (800) 319 4834. These last two options may take longer.

Refunds can take several days to process, and last minute cancellations may be subject to fees. Since Expedia is a third party in many transactions, cancellations and refunds are also subject to the policies of whatever airline, hotel, or other company the booking is associated with. Will Expedia have a Black Friday sale?
Expedia has offered a Black Friday that ran through Cyber Monday in the past, with sales that offer exclusive details for members, including steep discounts up to 90% off select flight and hotel packages. You can check back to their Black Friday page to see what deals they have planned.

Does Expedia have coupons?
Expedia does sometimes offer coupons and promo codes to help travelers save. Check out the deals and offers above for the latest. And make sure you're signed up for an Expedia account to ensure the newest offers arrive in your inbox. In the past, we've seen the occasional coupon code for an additional percentage off select types of travel. We've also seen dollar-off discounts on flights, with promo code. 

More often, however, Expedia doesn't offer coupons in the traditional sense. It's more likely to offer sales and price reductions. This is especially common during its Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions, during which we've seen up to 60% off select hotels and deeply discounted vacation packages.

Does Expedia have a senior discount?
AARP members can get exclusive discounts when booking with Expedia. We recently spotted an Expedia coupon code for $50 off select hotels for AARP members. Plus, Expedia offers up to 10% off select hotels and 30% off select rental cars to members of AARP.

Sales and Discounts
Expedia offers year-round discounts for AARP members on select rental cars and hotels, and sometimes additional Expedia discounts for their “travel deal of the month.” In fact, they have a dedicated booking site for AARP members where you can score these and other deals.

Expedia Spring Break Deals
Start looking for Spring Break deals in January. In the past, we've seen Expedia running 25% off hotels for bookings during the first part of the year. If you didn't plan ahead, no worries – Expedia also offers last-minute deals. Go the "Last Minute" section of its website and see which hotels are heavily discounted for the week ahead. If you want to save on flights, head to the "Deals" section of Expedia's site and find flights under $199.

Occasional military discounts are offered for certain travel deals on Expedia. You can check back to see their current deals for service member and veteran discounts.

Expedia also offers student discounts on travel packages from time to time. Check their Student Travel Discount page to see if any of these are available.

Expedia Rewards
Expedia Rewards is a membership option that allows you to collect points on eligible bookings purchased through the site. It’s free to sign up, and the points can be spent on select future hotel bookings, car rentals, cruises, packages and flights. A great option for frequent travelers!

Members can also earn “Trip Elements” on eligible bookings, which help them progress through the ranks of Expedia tiered reward program. App & Expedia Mobile Deals
There’s even more benefits available to users who download their app. In addition to being a convenient way to manage itineraries from your phone, it also allows members to earn double points on at certain hotels, and triple points on cash balances paid without using points. There are also great mobile-exclusive Expedia discounts that can only be found through the app.
